The Ask
Develop a bold, culturally relevant, and multi-year engagement platform introducing Starry to Black Gen Z audiences, beginning at HBCUs. Tap into their competitive school spirit, pride, and love for hoops culture to drive brand awareness and product trial. This platform must celebrate the unique legacy of each HBCU, fuel friendly competition, and cement Starry's place in the hearts (and hands) of students.
The Work
Authenticity is non-negotiable when trying to connect with HBCU audiences. They value cultural respect and realness. Using this insight, we created STARRY FIZZ FEST, an evergreen, Gen Z-centric engagement platform designed to build meaningful, long-term relationships between the brand and community. A self-contained festival experience, Fizz Fest's vibrance champions hoops culture, academic excellence, and HBCU pride while being flexible enough to plug into HBCU campus traditions.
